The Gothic Hall is unique in Berlin for its medieval atmosphere offering outstanding acoustics. The diverse concert program is known far and wide beyond Spandau’s borders. Baroque, classical and romantic music can be enjoyed in piano or harpsichord concerts, recitals, or as chamber music. Unique concert series such as “Historical Music in a Historic Place” or “Classics in Spandau” have also been established. Recently, the Gothic Hall has made a name for itself with concerts of jazz, rock-unplugged, folk and singer/songwriter music.
Outside the concerts in the Gothic Hall, the Citadel’s central courtyard is also a musical venue. The “Citadel Music Festival” has been established in the last few years, offering concerts of rock, pop and classical music.
Likewise, the Citadel is transformed into a stage for a wide range of events, including Easter-Knight Spectacular, Museum Festival for Children, Castle Festival, Festival of Lights and New Year’s Eve.
All of the presentations are part of a wide and colourful program of offerings that draws over 300.000 visitors yearly.
